I Figure And Figure

May 1, 2023
I Figure And Figure ~ Photo by Patrice

I figure and figure
Try to scheme
The best way to maneuver
All life’s dreams

Sometimes I’m pleased
Sometimes
Not
So much

But

It all boils down
To
What I want the most
Want so much.

May

Farmhouse Face and Lilacs ~ Photo by Patrice

May the trees survive winter
Blossom in the spring
Sending forth life
Giving all, nourishing.

May the sun rise in the morning
Rest asleep at night
To come up the next morning
Bringing warmth, love
And fields of waving buttercup delight.

May the seeds dropped in fall
Spring, rise, growing tall
Spreading roots out for nourishment
Leaves reaching up, growing
Til the fall.

May the wind blow breezes
Both strong or gentle
And then not at all.

May they bring on currents
Moisture, rain to quench
The thirst of everyone
Everyone, everything and all.

May, may we live
May we live us all.

Where You’ve Been

April 26, 2023
Where You've Been - Photo by Patrice

I don’t know where you’ve been
My heart it cries
My soul is lost upon a sea of sadness
As
Winds blow despair
Through a place so sorrowful
So extreme.

Then you come
You are here once again
Joy rises
My lips are filled with loving kisses
Ecstasy
Thunders in my heart
Yes, you are everything
You’re all I need.

Come lie beside of me
Let us be together
Never again
For me to wonder where
You could have gone
Where you’ve been.

Heaven Help Me Understand

April 25, 2023
Heaven Help Me Understand ~ Photo by Patrice

Heaven help me understand
All the thoughts
Going through my mind
My hands.

Are they real
Are they
Something I’ve done
Should do?

Which ones are right
which ones should I leave
What ones do I need
I understand?

All these thoughts in my head
Are they in
Within
My command?

When To Stop, When To Go

April 24, 2023
When To Stop, When To Go

Knowing
When to stop
When to go
Is
A feat that will
Save
Your life
Make all things
Prosper
Everything , all things
Grow.

Til My Heart Burns Out

Til my Heart burns out ~ Photo by Patrice

I’ll hold you
Til my heart burns out
My lips not speak
And
My eyes won’t cry.

Then and only then
Will I let you go
Free
To be in eternity.

I’ll still be there
And
Together we’ll share
A love so strong
Not a word or a universe
Can keep us apart.

For you, you see
Will always be
A burning
A burning in my heart
For me.

Questions And Answers

April 20, 2023
Questions And Answers ~ Photo by Patrice

Where have you been?

What have you done?

Will you still be part of my life
or
is that all done?

These questions
I ask

The answers
I need

For I too
must go forward
and
I do hope
that
you’ll be there

With me.

Happen, Happened

Happen, Happened ~ Illustration by Patrice

You cannot see
I cannot say
What
Will happen, happened
Yesterday.

The time is unknown
Can only wonder
About tomorrow
And
What took place
Yesterday.

Stand Tall

Stand Tall ~ Photo by Patrice

Stand tall
Answering the questions
Roaming
Through your mind.

Don’t let them grow
Becoming nothing
But
All you see.

Don’t let them be the essence
Of what makes up
The you
Or
The sweet, gentle
Me.

Leaving, Going Away

I saw you leaving, going away
Your back was turned
You didn’t say
A word of gratitude
Goodbye or even ‘Hey’
You just left
I saw you leave, go away.

My heart was broken
My life in disarray
I had nothing left that day
I saw you you leave
You were gone
You went away.
