How grateful I am
to see
trees sway
on the wind
howling
through the quiet basin
Silent they are
but
not forbidden
to feel

enveloping
me
I need your strength
wrapped around me

you’re behind, backing
me
For you see
I’m in a awful place
can’t see
a way out
no saving grace
Still I hope with you
beside me
with everything in place
I’ll be okay
you’ll hold me in your heart
you’ll be
my saving grace.

Oh The World

Oh the world
is a miserable place
no joy
no saving grace
only heartache, sadness
anything else
I can’t endure
embrace
Then
a robin alights
on my garden gate
living in happiness
in delight
courting, laughing
as robins do
building a nest
making love
in the mists of evening’s dew
All will be
all is
as the creator planned
we’ll live
till
the sun sets on our lives
whether with
happiness
or
crying eyes.
