Crocus About To Bloom

April 6, 2013

Spring Crocus ~ photo by Patrice

Crocus about to bloom
Springing from the doom
Coming up
Amongst the snow
Blooms of white
Lavender grow
So it won’t be long
Til we see
All those blooms
From here to eternity.

Snow Is Falling Softly Down

February 27, 2013

Blue Jay in Winter ~ photo by Patrice

Snow
is
falling
softly
down.

Floating
over
cold
barren
ground.

Covering
messes
muddy
brown.

Snow
is
falling.

Softly
coming
down.

What I Know, What I Don’t Know

February 13, 2013

What I know, what I don’t know
What I do in spite of what the show
Playing out there, outside in the snow.
Makes no difference, makes no change
Here inside the life I play
No matter
No matter what I know or say.

Snow Is Falling Cold And White

February 8, 2013

Snow Storm ~ photo by Patrice

Snow is falling cold and white
Coming down
All though the night
Piling up making hard
Travel thru or discard.

Snowplows roaring
Down the road
As squirrels wade thru
While horses snorting
Racing back
To barns warm and cozy
Enough of that!

Monster snow is what they say
Stay indoors don’t go away
Brace for more
Blizzard coming, blowing hard
Thru the day into night
This I think
This I’m sure
Snow is falling cold and white.

Snow Falls Softly Down

November 26, 2012

Snow falls softly down
Down on hardened ground
Covering lightly
Frozen fallen leaves
Dropped from lofty trees
All bare
Just standing there.

Snow flakes gently falling
Down upon the ground
Lightly dusting those
That can’t wait to be covered
In a light atmosphere
Enveloping, buffering from the cold
All this you do behold.

Breathe in frosty air
Feel the flakes caress your soul
As they tumble softly down
Gently landing on frozen ground
This is their time
For falling, coming down
See the snow fall softly down.

Snow Falls Coming Lightly Down

October 12, 2012

Snow falls coming lightly down
Melting ‘fore hitting ground
Thoughts of pureness flowing down
Freezing out illness, blight
Softly pushing them far into night
Cleansing, keeping warm
Cold dark earth on the ground.

Snow falls I can see
Cleansing too my responsibility
I must be like the snow
Let it fall, let it go
Landing, changing all I know
Trust it’s right, trust it will
Make alright like the snow
Covers, warms the land
Til spring’s beauty can make a stand.

This my snow comes lightly down
Melting ‘fore hitting ground.

Has Anyone Seen Spring Or Summer?

March 30, 2012

Has anyone seen
Spring or summer?
They were here
Just a while ago.

Gone now
Where oh where
Did they go?

Trees, flowers left
Stranded cold
Shivering in the midst
Of a howling breeze.

If you see them
Spring and summer
Send them back me.

For I’m here
Trudging
Thru this freak’n snow.

Snow Is Falling Softly

January 19, 2012

Snow is falling softly
gently down upon a cold
Hard  bitter ground
Unforgiving in this season angry
As we struggle to be warm.

Quietly snow covers all
That harsh, hard cold
Making soft and warm it seems
This landscape filled with cold.

Blanket all the world
In white beauty bold
There til spring
The ground does sleep
While we wait for warmth
To unfold.

Springing forth in vibrant colour
Joyous singing can be heard
May we rest in quiet winter
Tucked beneath a blanket white
Waiting for spring to tell us
This is the time to spring to life.

Snow Comes Down

November 30, 2011

Snow comes down
Gently falling, falling down
Coating, covering all that’s brown
Falling gently, falling
Falling to the ground.

Soft and gentle falling,
Landing on bright whiskered fur
Briefly there to stay
Til  ladened branch whisks away
Down upon dark brown ground.

Gently falling, falling
All the way to the ground
Falling snow gently falling
Falling on the ground.
