Breach of the Capital Building ~ Photo by Jason Andrew

When it happened
What did you say
How did you rationalize
All the people breaching
The Capital building
Yesterday?

Nothing, no one
Can make it seem right
in
Today
Tomorrow
or
Yesterday.

You Haven’t Been There

December 23, 2020

You Haven’t Been There ~ Photo by Patrice

You haven’t been there
And I haven’t seen
All the wonders
In the world
All
That has been.

But
Tomorrow we’ll go
Locked arm in arm
Down the path of wonder
Into tomorrow
Feeling
Seeing no harm.

Once Again, Once More

December 14, 2020

Once Again, Once More ~ Photo by Patrice

I feel the heartache
I feel sadness in my soul
Lost and left
I watch
Those trying to climb out
Of deep depression
Once again, once more.

In tomorrow
Will the sun shine again
Will the streets flow with laughter
Will things
Be ever right
Once again, once more?

Feeling The Anger, The Pain

November 27, 2019

Broken Robin's Nest ~ Photo by Patrice

Feeling the anger, the pain
Of not being the answer
To what drains the life
From my world, my heart, my family
All that encompasses
Contains.

Could it be tomorrow
When things change, answers answered
The world full of laughter, families together
And nothing, no feeling
That everything is circling
A filthy, dirty drain.

Thoughts At Morning

October 3, 2018

Answers Dance ~ Photo by Patrice

Thoughts at morning
Bring the night to life
Answering questions
Dreamed late last night.

Maybe tomorrow
It will all seem right
But for now
Answers dance
In the morning light.

Yesterday

Misty ~ Watercolour Painting by Patrice

This day is today
It’ll be tomorrow
Yesterday.

Can’t live without it
Yet see it pass away
Becoming a time in
Yesterday.

No longer tomorrow
Now today I’m living
Yesterday.

Monty's Last Day ~ Photo by Patrice

He died today
but really
Tomorrow.

We said
Goodbye
with such
Great sorrow.

No heart
could break
as much
as ours.

We sobbed
and
Sobbed

We knew
there would be
No tomorrow.

I Close My Eyes Just To Feel My Heart

November 11, 2016

Dedicated to those that served and gave all

Dedicated to Sue, who has lost her beloved horse, Yorkie.
Our thoughts are with you.

I close my eyes just to feel my heart
Feel the pain
Please make it to depart
Lost to all never more to be
The call I loved and adored from thee.

Feel the sadness reign
Beginning down the path
Of no gladness, ecstasy
Only sadden, weeping pain.

You have gone, lost to me
Remorse is not the word
I need or want to see
Tears once of joy shattered
Left, gone no more to employ
Only rivers long, tragic and so deep
Flowing with overwhelming sadness
Do they weep.

Brought down to my knees
Blows of anguish
Anger
Morose disbelief.

Truly thought you’d live forever
Now know is never going to be
Love you ever
Ever please believe
Wanted never
You to leave me never
Ever leave me never please.

Now gone I oh so…

Three Years Ago Tomorrow

February 27, 2015

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

MontyThree years ago tomorrow,
Monty died today.
I Feel the sadness and the pain
Just like it was yesterday.

He stayed with us a little longer
Not for himself, but to help make us stronger,
To be able to accept that final day.
Three years ago tomorrow,
When Monty died today.

To cherish and remember
All that was good and dear.
About Monty,
who three years ago tomorrow
Died today.

The last day of February,
The 29th to be exact
Which tomorrow isn’t there
So, three years ago tomorrow,
Monty died today.

Let me take the steps needed
To go in the direction
Necessary and okay
Today, tomorrow and yesterday.
