I can’t keep you happy
I can’t let you go
No one can say the things
I need to know.
Bow my head in anguish
Raise it in joy
Move forward, telling
No one where or what
I need to know.

Everyone isn’t the one
I should have been
Accepting that is harder
Then anything has ever been.
Maybe tomorrow it’ll be
What I want, what I need
But that remains
Remains to be seen.

Wandering now
Where I’ve never been
Seeking now
Things I’ve won’t begin
Leaving now
Thoughts I shouldn’t have held so tight
Gone now
From the darkest night
Flowing now
On a path not so straight
Holding now
Promise as I go to the light.

I am the one
Who saves my life
The one who guides me
Thru the strife.
I am the one
No need to guess
Still I know, I need not think
I’m alone
And hopelessly guideless.
I am the one
But at my side, in front of me
Has my back, my destiny
A soul so strong, so kind to me
Shows me right and that that’s wrong.
I am the one
Who chooses my each and every way
Thou I know that kind soul
Guides me all through the day.
~ Patrice

Never saw it coming
Didn’t know it would
Now have to accommodate
With everything I should.
Never chose the situation
Didn’t know I could
But will immerse myself
Make it all that I should.

When your heart is sore
Your tears won’t dry
Remember
You’re not alone
We hear your cries.
Remember too
All who we’ve said goodbye
Are with us still
Only running now
Where angels fly.

The morning doesn’t run away
It stands and looks ahead
To what will come to be
On this now, breaking day.
No regrets should start the way
no ‘what if’ nor nothing negative
Be brought to this new day.
Only anticipation, happiness
With excitement on the face
That stands, looks forward
To this one bright, perfect day.
~ Patrice

My heart rules, my heart says
Be the best and then leave the rest
Don’t look for bad nor tolerate those
That bring it.
My heart hears all kinds of things
Water crashing on distant shores
A baby bird looking for some more
The calling of a lonesome wolf.
My heart feels the touch of necessity
A coffee warm, so tasty
The gentle caress from one
So loved.
My heart does all these things
While beating life and breathe
Into everything.

There I stand
Soul, hat in hand
Searching, looking for the right way
The right stand.
Should I turn left
Or maybe right
Go forward or
Retreat into the dark of night?
No answer comes
No word spoken clear
Quiet, gentle silence moves me
Our bond unbroken here.
~ Patrice

The heart is a treasure
Hopefully, never to be seen
It guides, beats life in a body
Where she is queen.
The mind may be king
But the heart, she is queen
Without her
The mind can’t do anything.
Giving life, birthing life
Holding life in between
No one lives a life without a heart
Hopefully, never to be seen.
