Why Haven’t I

Why haven’t I seen
Your heart open up
Your voice speak
Soft, lilting words

Why haven’t I known
The place where all go
To be safe and unhurt
Why haven’t I?

I don’t know why
I haven’t been able
To experience all
Of these things.

I do know they exist
And know
Someday I’ll see all these
Beautiful, wondrous things.

Helping Still

I can’t remember why or where
I met the soul who pulled me out
Stood beside and helped bring about
All the wondrous things
I now shout out.
