My Younger Self

If I could speak and say
To my younger self
The things I know today
I wouldn’t listen to myself
Berate and think I’m not worthy
Of love in anyway.

I’d say beauty doesn’t last
It fades away to something beautiful
Just in another way
What’s important now won’t be
In tomorrow’s day, so let it go
Let it fade away.

I’d tell her she’ll grow old
Live and laugh no matter what
Tragedy may come her way
That all she has to do is just love
Love and live each and everyday.

That’s what I would tell my younger self
If I could speak to her in
Yesterday.

Yes, I think I probably would have ignored my future self, saying that the journey is more important than the destination. 🙂
