Saw My Heart Filled

December 22, 2017

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

Saw my heart filled
With love
And yours with such cold
Not caring bold disdain.

I wasn’t told
You’d soon depart
Or how I’d be shattered
Blown apart.

It seems it doesn’t matter
For that’s what you expect
When the heart
Is torn, ripped away.

Not sure why
I didn’t cry or follow
You out the door.

Instead I closed my heart
Denying for a time
That I wished
You would have stayed.

But now I wait and hope
And pray
That you’ll come back
Someday, someday.

We Sat Silently Together

No one saying anything
Silently wishing
We could bridge the chasm
That that silence brings.

We Are Joyous

December 8, 2017

Watching Deer Watching ~ photo by Patrice

We are joyous
Moving along, forward
Into a distant future.

Hesitate, reach down
Look around, see
All the wonders
Growing
Living by your side.

Know
You’re not alone
Nor ever going to be.

For intertwined
In your soul, mine
And all that
Has ever been.

Never Understood

December 1, 2017

Never understood
How you could walk away
Never turning round
To even say
A kind goodbye

Never understood.

Can’t figure out why
Why it made me cry
Wish with all my heart
I too
Could leave and maybe die

Never understood.

Not now in that awful moment
Moved on and found
The world a lovely place
Full of treasures, beauty, grace
Making all that heartache
Pass away

That, I understand.

But in brief moments
Of some days
I think of you
And still

Can never really understand.

Maybe Behind In Time

November 24, 2017

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

Maybe behind in time
Maybe not ahead of the crowd
But oh, joy is bestowed
Upon this road I’m travelling on.

Come be with me
Feel the passion in a love
Of beauty all around.

Go back in time
Feel the love, the joy
That does surround.

Quiet

Quiet
Quietly moving past eternity
Into depths full of ecstasy.

Pause
Step forth into your realm
Saturated with the crown
Of great things done and to do.

All
All this, this is you.

All Three In A Row

November 10, 2017

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

All three in a row
Sitting, resting nowhere to go.

Pleasant and mild
The height of haute style
Sitting, resting
Certainly to be there awhile.

Ah, doesn’t it make you smile.

Think the thoughts
That are beautiful
Think the ones that need to be
While treasuring times past
Dwelling in your memory.

Magnificence Belongs In The Hearts Of Minds

October 27, 2017

Magnificence belongs in the hearts of minds
No longer loitering not defined
Pursue your dreams, be not dismayed
For in your heart your mind will play.

Imagine Today Is Your Last Day

October 20, 2017

Morning Glory Fall ~ photo by Patrice

Imagine
Today is your last day.

What would you say?
Where would you go?
What would you see?

Would it be beauty
Or misery?

I don’t know
Can’t see
But hope I’d make it
The best day to last me
An eternity.
