Fly away, fly away
The day is unfolding
The temperature’s cold
Not smouldering
Fly away, fly away
Come back
Amid spring flowers
For now is the time
Time to fly
Fly away, fly away.

Saw my heart filled
With love
And yours with such cold
Not caring bold disdain.
I wasn’t told
You’d soon depart
Or how I’d be shattered
Blown apart.
It seems it doesn’t matter
For that’s what you expect
When the heart
Is torn, ripped away.
Not sure why
I didn’t cry or follow
You out the door.
Instead I closed my heart
Denying for a time
That I wished
You would have stayed.
But now I wait and hope
And pray
That you’ll come back
Someday, someday.
