As you can see
There is a lot to fill our destines
Flowing thru the world
In and out of harm
Maneuvering by the obstacles
That have a tendency
To make us cry or even die.
No there isn’t a plan
As grand as this one
We hold here within our hands
The magnificent one
Our destiny demands.

I listened to you speak
Saw what you want
And seek.
A sadness overwhelmed
The likes of me
Realizing neither I
Or anyone on earth
Could satisfy such a hunger
Such a thirst.
I came away feeling
Worthless in this sadness
that makes me cry
For nothing, nothing
I could say or speak
Would give you
What you want and seek.

NELSON MANDELA
July 18, 1918 – December 5, 2013
Nelson is dead
Can’t believe these words
I just have said.
A brave, courageous man
Lived a life to make it better
For all men.
I bow my head in reverence
Say a pray
For those left behind.
For you see there will never be
Another such great
And wondrous, loving man.
Rest in peace Nelson Mandela
You brave, courageous loving man.

Never understood
How you could walk away
Never turning round
To even say
A kind goodbye
Never understood.
Can’t figure out why
Why it made me cry
Wish with all my heart
I too
Could leave and maybe die
Never understood.
Not now in that awful moment
Moved on and found
The world a lovely place
Full of treasures, beauty, grace
Making all that heartache
Pass away
That, I understand.
But in brief moments
Of some days
I think of you
And still
Can never really understand.

Arco ~ Rest in Love and Peace
In his eighteenth year
He left your side
Left a wondrous life in which
He travelled far and wide
And did amazing things.
Not one to cringe or hide
Courageous to the end
Standing bravely by your side
Still now, as he did then.
His soul will help
Will guide you thru all this sadness
And then he’ll pass in time
To be in your heart forever
Never to leave again.
Please feel no regrets
He knows you done your best
Loved him like no one else
Could ever do.
Now is his time to hold you up
To steady, not to fall
For you see
He’ll forever be standing close by
The both of you
You and the man he loved
Called Steve.

Maybe behind in time
Maybe not ahead of the crowd
But oh, joy is bestowed
Upon this road I’m travelling on.
Come be with me
Feel the passion in a love
Of beauty all around.
Go back in time
Feel the love, the joy
That does surround.
~ Patrice

Birthday boy you are today
Across the land
We celebrate this your day.
Happy Birthday!
Let it be a time to laugh
Celebrate that you be.
Many more I say
To you, you see
Happy, Happy Birthday be!

Our neighbour died
He passed away
Gone to heaven
Just today.
Sadness, remorse
Deep regret
Don’t know what happened
Just yet.
Lights on, police car
Soft voices heard
All seems extremely quiet
Even calm.
Most likely
They can’t believe
He’s gone.
Passed away
In the night they say
Just heard he’s gone
Gone yesterday.
Great guy
No more to say
Our neighbour died
He passed away.

Why do we try?
Why do we cry?
Why do we die?
What else is there to learn
When we’ve learnt it all?
Silly oh so small is the mind
Maybe that wonders such things
Holding those thoughts
Not moving forward at all.
Why?
Wondering that’s all.

Hydro out there is no doubt
Smash and crash
Is what the wind has been
Whining, howling across the span
Bending, breaking trees
Dashing dreams and all things
Seen, unseen.
Mutter, sputter does no good
Hydro out
As the onslaught marches
Destroying its way thru
Listen, listen to the howling wind
Crashing, smashing thru.
~ Patrice
