Today Someone Died A Long Time Ago

November 14, 2013

Today someone died a long time ago
He changed my life
The course of things that could have been
And my time with him
May not have been so smooth
But I remember him
Yes, I remember him from so long ago.

Adieu, may peace and God be with you
My love, my friend adieu.

Going Back Over The Past

November 13, 2013

Cobwebs and Geraniums ~ photo by Patrice

Going back over the past
Seeing things different
Now that I’m relaxed.

Joy sometimes
Anger and anguish at other
But these emotions
These emotions are mine.

I’ll filter with joy, anger and anguish
All those emotions that are mine
While relaxed, going back, thru the past.

See The Words On The Page

November 12, 2013

Lilacs ~ photo by Patrice

See the words on the page
Bring them out from where they lie
Sing their lovely, lilting song
As you gently nudge to where they belong.

See words filled with wondrous thoughts
No sadness or hateful things
Just beauty radiating, singing
Now and into spring.

Bring these words to the page
Let them shout, sing their happiness
Here and all about
These beauty words you’re bringing out.

We Must Remember With Hearts Filled

November 11, 2013

We must remember with hearts filled
With emotion seeing the way

Those who fought for freedom
On this very day.

Somber moments seeking the truth
Listening heartbeats showing the route.

You battled in cold, fought in the dark
Never once saying no more, so far.

Onward, forward you did advance
Not thinking or fearing any consequence.

Battles are fought, some never won
But moments of glory reign
Showing the courage
Of our daughters, our sons.

Hold that courage proudly
You stood in the moment
You wear the battle scar.

All I can do is salute and give honour to
The brave soldier you are.

Burr It’s Cold

November 10, 2013

Burr it’s cold
Burr what’s next
To unfold?

Wind is blowing
Leaves are gone
Flocks of geese
Not to be found.

Winter today could unfold
Cause burr, burr
It’s really cold.

Dark And Foreboding

October 31, 2013

Fall Rain ~ photo by photo

Dark and foreboding
The light does not shine
Muddy tracks are erased
In the water running past.

Grasp the heartbeat make it last
Not lost in the dismal, tragic past
For we are here and must trust
It will, forever last.

Frost Crunches Beneath My Feet

October 28, 2013

Fall Leaves ~ photo by PatriceFrost crunches beneath my feet
Sodden leaves weep and weep
Fall has come bare bones are cold
The sun shines but no warmth
In this season’s end
I behold.

A Candle Is Lit

October 25, 2013

A candle is lit
Here in my heart
For me and those
Soon to depart.

No heartache will dismiss
My loving wish that
Together we’d stay
Forever and ever
In this precious day.

Pressure

October 23, 2013

Pressure
Too much to measure
Dwelling in the afterbin of heartache
Feeling the pressure.

Want to release
Want it to be deceased
This pressure,

Too much pressure.
