I met my love
A long time ago
And
Far, far away
On this day
This
Valentine’s Day.
We’ve travelled
Thru life
Together
Living, loving, laughing
Maybe
A little fighting
Whatever
Life brought us
On that particular day.
Looking back
I smile and say
Life has been good
Since
Way back
When I met my love
On
Valentine’s Day.

Sadness is a part of me
Loss of one so very dear
To me
Gone a long time ago
But no one told me
I didn’t know.
Her heart was pure
Her soul glowed bright
I can see her smile
Her gentle nature
Such a delight.
In the years
That have passed
We talked little
Distance, time
Seemed to be an
Impasse.
But you were there
I was here
Sharing a love so full
For horses, boxers
And a mate who
Completed, giving all.
Now must accept
Gone to be in heaven
Where with all who
Have gone before
Happily sharing laughter
Memories by the score.

Brave and Courageous
They stood on a hill
All together
They stepped forth with one will.
One assembled cars
While two tended farms
And another nursed the ill.
Honest and caring ruckus until
Obligation carried them on paths diverse
I remember still.
Their lives unsurpassed
In honesty, loving and caring
Working shoulder to shoulder
With family, friends and foe.
They may have passed
A long, long time ago
But I feel them still standing
Beside me here
On that same hill.

Today someone died a long time ago
He changed my life
The course of things that could have been
And my time with him
May not have been so smooth
But I remember him
Yes, I remember him from so long ago.
Adieu, may peace and God be with you
My love, my friend adieu.
