A dark day, a quiet day
Busy hoping the bad will go away
But still anger fills the land
Don’t understand, don’t understand.
Silent caution undertakes
To make the world a safer place
No blaming you, no blaming me
Just live in wonder, in harmony.
Darkest night is all we fear
Not one another, no foe, no peer
We walk in morning not with dread
Only thoughts of love instead.

Birds singing in a far tree
Silent sun’s rays breaking thru hovering
Bee doesn’t know you or me.
Tree leans to the sun as squirrels
Scurry, gathering keys
Unlocking nothing for chipmunks scold
Cussing unknown foe hiding
Waiting for them to go.
Spring day starts lasting
Into summer sun
Join the crowd travel
With them til evening comes.

Brave and Courageous
They stood on a hill
All together
They stepped forth with one will.
One assembled cars
While two tended farms
And another nursed the ill.
Honest and caring ruckus until
Obligation carried them on paths diverse
I remember still.
Their lives unsurpassed
In honesty, loving and caring
Working shoulder to shoulder
With family, friends and foe.
They may have passed
A long, long time ago
But I feel them still standing
Beside me here
On that same hill.

Storybook telling, storybook ending
Endeavor to know the lines so well
The costs are dear
The consequences many
Join the ranks
Of the countless enemy
Foe to foe bring it on
Marry the rule
Continue on
Yours to tell
Mine to listen
Storybook telling
Endless ending song.
Why should we know?
Why should we be
Here, in the land
Of no beginning?
Sally forth
Muddle through
Storybook telling
In the midst
Of a storybook ending
Song.
You are right
I was wrong
Not so much starting
But feeling the throng
Of that very sad ending
That untold ending
In a storybook telling
Of so long ago
Endless, ending song.
