No one told me
what I’d see
No one held me
giving security
No one showed me
told me
what life could really be
Only life itself
gave
that opportunity.

Sadness is a part of me
Loss of one so very dear
To me
Gone a long time ago
But no one told me
I didn’t know.
Her heart was pure
Her soul glowed bright
I can see her smile
Her gentle nature
Such a delight.
In the years
That have passed
We talked little
Distance, time
Seemed to be an
Impasse.
But you were there
I was here
Sharing a love so full
For horses, boxers
And a mate who
Completed, giving all.
Now must accept
Gone to be in heaven
Where with all who
Have gone before
Happily sharing laughter
Memories by the score.

You don’t know
I don’t care
Everything else
We must share
No one told me
This is the living I’ll do
Expressing kindness
Harmony and gratitude
You won’t come
Take my place
All the goodness done
Can be easily erased
So bless yourself
Pick your teeth
The world will turn
Regardlessly.
