I’m Not Sure

March 18, 2022

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

I’m not sure what I’ll write
Something about yesterday
Maybe something
That will occur tonight.

No rules in place
No sayings to follow
Just hear that soft voice speak
And my writing, my words
They follow.

Let me hear
My silent soul speak.

 Let me hear
Her words of wisdom

That I alone can teach.

A Great Sadness

October 15, 2014

Winter Orchid ~ Photo by Patrice

A great sadness
Has taken over my life.

A great sadness
Not from stress, toil or strife.

A great sadness
Gives me no relief.

A great sadness
Is this that I speak.

I Listened To You Speak

December 9, 2013

Palm Tress in the Sunset ~ photo by Patrice

I listened to you speak
Saw what you want
And seek.

A sadness overwhelmed
The likes of me
Realizing neither I
Or anyone on earth
Could satisfy such a hunger
Such a thirst.

I came away feeling
Worthless in this sadness
that makes me cry
For nothing, nothing
I could say or speak
Would give you
What you want and seek.

If You Talk A Lot

December 27, 2012

If you talk a lot
You say a bit
It may be factual
But is it legit?

You don’t need to speak
Everything you think
Only that, that
Spreads the word.

Make it what you need
Even if its just a little bit
Maybe just a seed.
