Falling asleep
staying awake
the same
but
a difference
I can’t contemplate.
Each night
when
I go to bed
I wonder which one
will be swirling round
in
my head.
My body must follow
my feet align
for
whatever happens
it’ll start right there
in
my head.
Falling asleep
or
staring straight ahead.

When I Look Back

I look back
I see a life so different
so not
the present me
My heart
beats
my eyes see
but
not the way
the way it use to be
Maybe
I’ve grown
maybe I’ve lived
different lives
from an enfant
to
that young girl
oh so lost, asking why
Then
I seen my life
my existence
in a frame
of nature’s beauty
full of kindness
and
singing so sweet
It became the basis
of
how I live
how
I enjoy and love
Letting go
of
anger
sadness so bleak
those things lived
back there
in
yesterday
Those things I now do not seek.
