The Wind Comes

September 13, 2018

Blooms in a Storm ~ Photo by Patrice

The wind comes and she blows
Blows winds of disaster
Chaos
A multitude of things untold.

Her mighty strength will subside
Only when her fevered anger
Has run its course
And then she’ll be quiet air.

No evidence detected
Just anguish, heartache
Sadness left
That surely did unfold.

The Sun Shines Bright

September 12, 2018

Sun Flower ~ Photo by Patrice

The sun shines bright
Morning, noon and into night
Radiating heat
Blending, making rivers flow
Plants grow, the earth breathe.

Life lives because of the sun
Its rays beaming from very far
Bringing life, birthing life
Here and on distant planets
Like so many stars.

Feel the heat, feel the glow
Feel it and know
The sun gives all she’s got
And thou she doesn’t ask
We should find a way
A way to give back.

Don’t Know The Reason

September 11, 2018

memorial-marks-13th-anniversary-9-11-2 photo by Justin Lane ~ published at nydailynews.com

Don’t know the reason
Don’t know the why
Still saddened by the outcome
Even if time has so long gone by.

Prayers for those lost
Prayers for those taken
All have paid
Such a unbelievable cost.

Don’t know the reason
Don’t know the why
Saddened by the outcome
All I do is cry, cry.
~ Patrice

My thoughts and prayers are with all victims of 9/11.

Feeling

September 10, 2018

Grasses - Photo by Patrice

Feeling
The grass grow
Seeing
Leaves wave in the breeze
I know
Know there is a God
And
He’s taking care of me.

Did You See Me

September 7, 2018

To all those I have lost in this life

Dobie pup ~ Drawing by Patrice

Did you see me coming down the lane?
Did you hear me crying, crying your name?
I have lost you in the mist of time
Forgotten what has been
And what was part of mine.

Then I hear you softly call my name
Feel your arms around me once again
Trust the world will still be pleased
Even thou you no longer step
Along this path with me.

I Find Myself Standing All Alone

September 6, 2018

Swinging Bridge in Costa Rica ~ Photo by Patrice

I find myself standing all alone
On the edge of a precipice
Looking beyond the world I know
Seeing the route, the path
I must go.

No fanfare heralds the passing
No thunderbolt roars
Echoing in valleys below
But there behind me
I hear a soft voice telling
Telling me this is right
This is the way I should go.

The Pain Stops

September 5, 2018

Hogg Falls - on the brink ~ Photo by Patrice

The pain stops
When I think of that
That lives, breathes and feels
The essence of the universe
Reeling, spinning within
All this and that.

I Break My Heart

September 4, 2018

Henry ~ Pen and Ink Art by Patrice

I break my heart, injure my soul
Sacrifice my love
Feeling remorse forever more.

Nothing
Will bind the pieces together
Must take it out of mind.

Feel
The injuries, the heartache, the crying
Then leave them all far behind.

Horse and Cattle ~ Painting by Patrice

Searching, seeking
Where I need to be
Wondering
What will be, be my destiny.

Answers come
From where I don’t know when
Answers
I didn’t know or need til then.

August 30, 2018

Diva & Lise Painting ~ Watercolour by PatriceThe why and wherefore
Don’t seem to follow along
Maybe they’ll come
When I sing a beautiful
Melodic love song.
