Remember When The World Was Small

November 13, 2017

Old Tree - Boyne River ~ Photo by Patrice

Remember when
The world was small
Worries, cares were nothing
To speak of at all.

No crashing down
Of a market
Not really existing
Not at all.

No change in time
It just moved forward
Regardless of everything
Anything at all.

No mushroom cloud
No toxic smoke
No weeping, wailing
All lost hope.

Those were to come
But when
The world was small
None of that mattered
Not at all.

We Must Remember With Hearts Filled

November 11, 2017

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

We must remember with hearts filled
With emotion seeing the way

Those who fought for freedom
On this very day.

Somber moments seeking the truth
Listening heartbeats showing the route.

You battled in cold, fought in the dark
Never once saying no more, so far.

Onward, forward you did advance
Not thinking or fearing any consequence.

Battles are fought, some never won
But moments of glory reign
Showing the courage
Of our daughters, our sons.

Hold that courage proudly
You stood in the moment
You wear the battle scar.

All I can do is salute and give honour to
The brave soldier you are.

All Three In A Row

November 10, 2017

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

All three in a row
Sitting, resting nowhere to go.

Pleasant and mild
The height of haute style
Sitting, resting
Certainly to be there awhile.

Ah, doesn’t it make you smile.

Terrible Times Have Passed

November 9, 2017

Terrible times have passed
The sun’s rays warm
And
Bless at last.

Our days will know joy
Tears will dry, our lips smile
For
Terrible times have passed

Gone at last.

Let Me

November 8, 2017

Let me feel the gratitude
See heaven in all before
Beyond me.

Let me know the life I live
Is not in vain but giving all
To those that need me.

Let me leave this world
Embroiled in nothing more
Than pure love and ecstasy.

The Sky Is A Wanderer

November 7, 2017

Fall Leaves ~ Photo by Patrice

The sky is a wanderer in the sky
Not knowing how, when or why
Like a traveller moving on
Stopping now then going beyond
The edge of tomorrow
While seeking solace in a world
Looking up
Travelling, holding on.

Leaves in Fall ~ photo by Patrice

Think the thoughts
That are beautiful
Think the ones that need to be
While treasuring times past
Dwelling in your memory.

Where You And I Come From

November 2, 2017

Water and Iguana ~ Photo by Patrice

You see I didn’t know
Just what was going to be
You see I never have known
All the intricacies
Of where life began
Or where you and I come from.

But then what difference
Would it make if I knew
The answers all summed up
Displayed in one large lump sum
On the wall, a mathematical equation
Of where you and I come from.

See The World

November 1, 2017

See the world in all it’s majesty
Feel it’s heart beat
It’s breath breathing
Treasure the life it lives
But most of all

Let it live.

Foreboding Clouds

October 31, 2017

Storm Clouds ~ Photo by Patrice

Foreboding clouds
Moving in the sky
Forecasting things to come
A tear will cry
Hearts will be forsaken
A way of life will die.
