Your Heart

April 12, 2017

Willow ~ Watercolour Painting by Patrice

Celebrate your life
Celebrate yourself
See the world in your heart.

Tread upon the lifeline
Follow it to happiness
Let it reside in your heart.

Take nothing for granted
All of it has helped you
Find what lives in your heart.

Start celebrating your life
Celebrating
All that’s in your heart.

Wondering, Wondering

April 11, 2017

Wondering, wondering
What has happened
What lies ahead
Wondering.

Know nothing
Can be changed
Nor improved upon
Still, still wondering.

Will it happen once again
Or be so different
From the past
I’m wondering, wondering.

No one knows for sure
Yet hopes
Assumes the best
While wondering, wondering.

I Think

April 10, 2017

Misty ~ Watercolour Painting by Patrice

I think
Think of things
Will they come true
Or will they fall into
An abyss so blue?

When I think like this
I may sometimes cringe
Or sometimes laugh
Cause sometimes
I think
Think of you at last.

It’s Cold, It Blows

April 7, 2017

Spring-Winter Snowfall ~ Photo by Patrice

It’s cold, it blows
It doesn’t seem to want
To go away.

It strikes my heart
Piercing all that’s warm
Freezing it today.

No pleading, crying
Can make it melt
Becoming rain on a sunny day.

No, it’s cold
It blows all thoughts
Of lovely spring away.

Cold, Dark With Swampy Damp

April 6, 2017

Lilacs in a Storm ~ Photo by Patrice

Cold, dark with swampy damp
Crusty mould moves over sodden land
No one speaks nor do they roar
Injustice reigns
Gentle loving is no more.

Ten Thousand Things

April 3, 2017

Flying Stingray ~ Photo by Patrice

When I sleep and rest my eyes
My mind she thinks
Ten thousand things
Sometimes waking dragons
And awful, horrible, terrible things
Or she rests in peace
Delving into more magic things
Flying high with no restraints
Unencumbered by earthful ties
She soars, she dares
She climbs the stairs
Into a world
Where there are no cares
There tonight
Maybe I will dwell
No one knows nor can tell
I only hope the night will pass
Giving me in sleep a chance
To dream
Another wondrous
Ten thousand things.

Another Day Not The Same

March 29, 2017

Zee Painting ~ Watercolour by Patrice

Another day not the same
A cloud, a veil
Lifted
Now I see my terrain.

All is clear
My purpose, my direction
My refrain.

I sing and live
What gives me satisfaction
Gives me
A life to live.

Actually

March 27, 2017

Deck Chairs ~ Photo by Patrice

Actually
Can’t hear
The wind call.

Actually
Can’t tell if
I’ve woke or fell.

Actually
Hiding inside of myself
Waiting for something
Something.

Another Mouse

March 24, 2017

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

Convict Cartoon ~ illustration by Patrice

Another mouse
Inside the house
Caught by just his tail
Tried to run
That son of a gun
But the clatter left a trail.

Caught like a rat
In a trap
How could I let him go?
That I did
Outside in the cold blue snow
I did, I really did let him go.

If he lives is up to him
For it’s not
For me to know
I just let a mouse
That was in the house
I just let him go.

So if you see a mouse
With tape upon his tail
He is the one I did let go!

Wouldn’t It Be Nice

March 22, 2017

Nurse Shark ~ Photo by Patrice

Wouldn’t it be nice
If the world laughed
No one cried and in the sea
No fish, no lives
No one
No one died.

Wouldn’t it be nice
If the world turned
Looking at itself
Making no excuses, no lies
Just told the truth
With open-hearted sighs.

Wouldn’t it be nice
If the world alone
Gave all the happiness
Needed to survive
Holding everyone in a grasp
So tender, so alive.

Wouldn’t it be nice, Wouldn’t it be nice
