Sacrifice Needs Not To Be

December 17, 2014

Golden Eagle ~ Illustration by Patrice

Sacrifice needs not to be
Nor neither give in
No
This is not your destiny.

Abuse no one in your passage
Just
Proud, strong and kind
These are what is needed
In all of human kind.

Courage To Understand

December 15, 2014

Redheaded Woodpecker on a Snowy Day ~ Photo by Patrice

Courage
to understand.

Strength
to get it done.

Tolerance
to know
not everyone
is the same one.

Kindness
to guide
yourself and
those lost.

Awareness
to know when
and what.

Yourself

That’s all
it costs.

Snow Soft And White

December 11, 2014

Fields of Snow ~ Photo by Patrice

Snow soft and white
Piling up
Has been all night.

Quietly falling
Covering
Blanketing all that shows.

The sun will rise
Shining bright
On snow covered fields
Blessed
With a insulating layer of white.

Couldn’t See The Reason

December 9, 2014

Couldn’t see the reason
Couldn’t know the why
Had to be the person
That stood and let it by.

Let Me Hear The Weather

December 8, 2014

Palm Tress in the Sunset ~Photo by Patrice

Let me hear the weather
Falling against the sky
Let me see the moon
Not cry.

Let me feel my heart
Pounding love strong
For the one that makes
The rain soft
And the moon sigh.

Let me be the one
Where love resides
In my heart, tonight.

Have You Seen Optimistic?

December 4, 2014

Jackal ~ Illustration by Patrice for Holt, Rinehart and Winston's reader, 'Flights Near And Far'

Have you seen optimistic?
Where, oh where could she be?
At one time she was here
Right beside of me.

She kept me company
Laughed and made me see
The happy, caring way
Just what I need.

But yesterday
She left, she left me
Have you seen optimistic?
If you do, please tell me.

Why Did It Come?

December 1, 2014

Model T on the hill ~ Photo by Patrice

Why did it come?
Where has it been?
Where will it go?

This I don’t know

All I can do is
Care
And let it show.

Snow has fallen
Blanket soft and white

Wind Blowing

November 26, 2014

Wind Damage ~ Photo by Patrice
Wind blowing
Hollering
Thru the trees
Breaking
Smashing
Everything it sees.

Cruel
Sparing none
Blowing all night
Til
The morning sun.

Devastation
Greets the day
All hard work
All blown away.

Nothing left
But clean up
Arrange
And hold back
Despair.

Know
The sun will shine
Once again
Life will go on
Even if the wind
She does blow
Strong.
