Can I venture to the past?
Relax and enjoy things seen
Fix what wasn’t right
Move forward
To this time I live in now
Confident
My heart will no longer hunger
For what has been and passed.

Those that be hiding
In my memory.
Waiting to jump out
Scare, startle me
Please forgive them

The sun shines bright
As the wind blows quiet like
The atmosphere breathes a restful breath
Eyes closed in winter rest.
Let me take it in
Feel warmth following the light
To a time when the sun shines
Even in the evening night.

Optimistic, let it fly
Down the canyon alongside
A deep, green sea of beauty
Where the world can see
Wings holding, lifting me
Flying high, flying free.

Silent silence
Thundering thru my head
Clouding all that might be said
Nothing left to be undone.
Silent silence
Makes me run.

Subtly is no form of action to take
When understanding pleasures needed
To make a heart full of happiness
Once mired down in toxins, felt like no escape
In a future yet to happen
That which, that which I make.

Let me honour you
For your sacrifice, devotion and courage
Not afraid to die.
Let me honour you
For fighting for peace
And were willing to die.
Let me honour you
For the love of country
You battled, you died.
Let me honour you
Ones I loved
Who fought, who died.
Let me honour you
Fallen soldier
The brave who have died.

Life’s not easy but what I’ve got
Even if I sacrifice, pay my dues
Know it doesn’t mean
I get to cruise.
If the hard work never stops
Does it mean I’ll not
Feel fun and laughter, give it up
Be satisfied with my lot?
Absolutely, absolutely not.

Why not try to understand
All the confusion swirling round
Like a crazy marching band.
Don’t know where, don’t know why
But somehow I need to cry
Release the hurt, set free the sigh.
Move beyond the crazies
Then maybe, maybe
Understand the reason why.
