A Tear Drop

February 11, 2014

Icicle Plants ~ Photo by Patrice

A tear drop
Runs down my cheek
Taking with it all I cherish
All I seek.

A tear wells up
Clouding my eyes
So they can’t see
The pain devouring me.

A tear drops quietly
On lips unable to cry
Any words that fit
These feelings I dispise.

A tear falls
Down my cheek
Landing on my broken heart
Whose pain won’t go away.

A tear flows down
Taking with it all love
All joy
I hoped I’d found.

I feel
A tear running down.

Struggling, Churning Round

February 10, 2014

Travel thru life ~ Photo by Patrice

Struggling, churning round
Don’t know where there is safe ground.

Grasping, holding tight
Fighting to see some kind of light.

Struggling
Struggling, churning round.

Feel Comfort In Your Heart

February 7, 2014

Steffi and Bart ~ Photo by Patrice

Feel comfort in your heart
Feel the gentle rolling start
Tumbling from your head
Putting love in your heart.

See it linger
Going pass your throat
Moving quietly down
To a waiting heart.

Always remember
Smouldering love
Will not smother
It will open up and mend
A broken heart.

Feel the comfort, love
Seeping into your heart
Feel it traveling
Throughout the world
With your soul connected
Always
To a loving, gentle heart.

Snow Falling Down Song

February 5, 2014

Snow Storm ~ Photo by Patrice

Snow falling down as we once again sing
That snow falling song.

It goes on and on
No end to the cold winter song
All about more snow falling
Coming down.

We’d sacrifice to have no more ice
Oh God, that would be nice!
Or freezing rain clogging
Icing over the runoff drain.

Think we’ve had enough
But that’s not up to us
So better grab a snow shovel
Clear the winter rubble
Singing the never ending
Snow falling song.

The Idea Came

February 4, 2014

Power White Tropic ~ Photo by Patrice

The idea came
I think yesterday
All laden in glory, no more can I say.

The idea came
I don’t know from where
Out of the blue it was just was there.

The idea came
Quietly
No bolt of thunder or shouts of ecstasy.

So I must get busy, work away
And make it real
This idea that came to me yesterday.

Lost In Thoughts Of Blooms In Spring

February 3, 2014

Lost in thoughts of blooms in spring
Wishing, hoping soon will be spring
Not sad to let winter go
So glad to be getting pass the cold.

The blooms in spring are what
I’m waiting, wishing for
While here, in the depths
Of frigid, winter cold and snow.

Sitting Here Thinking

January 31, 2014

Model T on the hill ~ Photo by Patrice

Sitting here thinking
About what my day may be all about
Hoping for no pressure, just fun, laughter
You know what thats about.

Hoping my heart will grow with love
While my sorrows just ebb away
No tremendous thud
Yes, I could learn to love
What that is all about.

Just sitting here thinking
Thinking what my day
Is going to be all about.

Feel Myself Spiralling Down

January 30, 2014

Perfect Little House ~ Photo by Patrice

Feel myself spiralling down
Feel the sadness all around.

Morose behaviour I have found
Doesn’t let me feel a better way
Just seems I am bound
To trudge alone, spiralling down.

But maybe

Come to terms with who I am
No more sacrifice
Know the person that I know
I know I am.

Why Didn’t I Think

January 29, 2014

Golden in Trouble ~ Illustration by Patrice for Dogs In Canada Magazine

Why didn’t I think
This five minutes ago?

Maybe then I’d be standing
On the threshold all dressed in gold
Instead of shivering
Sinking in this wretched hole.

Didn’t think
This is how it would go
Just didn’t think
Five minutes ago.
