The Winds Of Change Are Changing

June 3, 2013

The winds of change are changing
The known is not here
We all believe in the future
We all want it to be right here.

The winds of change are changing
Bringing the future back to here
Everything we’re holding
Everything so oh so dear
Will soon be far, far in the rear.

The winds of change are changing
The present soon too, far in the rear
The future before us
Hold it close, hold it dear but
Never forget those we cherish
They’re now in the rear.

Sadness Fails

May 31, 2013

Old House Window ~ photo by Patrice

Sadness fails
Crashes
Hear
The wails.

Monster crawls
Full of regret
Finally getting
What he should
Get.

No remorse
Pity none
Turn the page
Forget
The rage.

Sadness can
No more
Be part of
Hate.

Slowly, Softly The Fog Dissipates

May 28, 2013

Birdhouse in a birch tree ~ photo by Patrice

Slowly, softly the fog dissipates
Leaving beneath me
A breathtaking land of
Oh so much rare beauty.

In this grand, lovely land
Is a dream where I could exist
Bringing to my life a magic
I shouldn’t nor can resist.

Come join me there
In this wonderland I love
Come be part of a world where
All is filled with wondrous love.

The Drinks Go Down

May 27, 2013

Iris photo by Patrice

The drinks go down
In the hummingbird feeder
As the sun warms the sky
Grass blows on a breeze
Destined to bring rain
To the evening’s brilliant blue sky.

All seems right
All seems as it should be
No sight of anger
Or struggle to combat.

Just a spring day
Over coming all that.

I Read The Old Ones

May 24, 2013

Poppy ~ photo by Patrice

I read
The old ones
And believe
They were spun
By masters
Pass deceased.

They can see
All spread out
Far and wide
They can help me
Thru and be
The master here
Within my own
Small
Little destiny.

The Smell Of Lilacs Ebbs And Flows

May 23, 2013

Lilacs ~ photo by Patrice

The smell of lilacs ebbs and flows
Over my senses
Taking me back in time
When life was slow
And in pastures green
Children laughing, playing
Running past the stream.

Sweet scented lilacs are my time machine.

See The Depth There Inside

May 22, 2013

Golden Eagle ~ illustration by PatriceSee the depth there inside
Where no one can or could ever hide.

There inside let me be the one who stands
And sees what can be not that what shouldn’t be.

See the depths close you eyes
Be at peace because here inside you can reside
Safe secure til all is right outside.

Dwell inside but first look deep inside
See the depth where it does reside.

Love is essential
Love is everything
Love will bring
Joy and laughter
And things
That sadness
Can never sing.

Love is essential
Love is everything

Brave Barking Dog

May 17, 2013

The barking woke her with a start
To a smoke filled room she must depart
She knew that barking saved her life
That awful, fateful night.

Through the flames she did race
Flying down the stairs with saving grace
Outside on the lawn, there she realized
The barking was still held captive there inside.

She flung herself at the door
To go back in and save
The barking not outside
But flames leapt out burnt her bad.

Then terror was in her eyes
As the barking ceased to be
She sobbed, she wept, she cried
Knowing, the barking just had died.

The barking saved her life that day
This she knows as she stares
At the scars of that frightening night
When the barking saved her soul
In a awful, awful frightening night.

Rest in peace dear brave, barking dog
You gave your life to save her life and
It will be remembered throughout all life
That brave, courageous barking dog
Who saved her life.
