Breathing new life
In the day
The moment
Throughout all waking hours
To
Evening night.
Never speaking
Of
What must be done
What should be
Left behind.
Only moving through
The day
Bringing everything
To evening
Where to rest, sleep
In the quiet
Peaceful night.

Hold me close
Don’t let me be
Sacrificed
To the dragons of eternity.
Let me see
Beauty, harmony
In the world all around
Surrounding me.
Cherish, nurture those that grow
In the shadow of greatness
Growing as they must
All alone.
But
Lovingly supported
By me, by us that hold them
Forever close.

Nor
Can I feel
The essence of the world
All seems so
Very, very still.
I wonder why
I ask the question
To the quiet presence
But
Still, still.
Nothing says
The why
Nor can I feel
All is
Very, very still.

Tomorrow
Will be
What it turns out
To be.
But
Today, only today
I’ll let it be.
I’ll sit back
And
Enjoy my solitude
My serenity.

Ever
Ever as me.
It may be tomorrow
Or
The day after that
I’ll be in heaven
Smiling down
On all this, all that.
Where I’ll be wondering
Why I cared
If no one
was in the same time, place
As me.
Like today
I’ll be wondering
Just wondering all this
And
Of course, all that.

Working on what’s right
On
What to say
When everything comes to light
When all see
What completes the day.
Then
I’ll have the words
That’s when I’ll know
What to say.
This is what I tell myself
Worried, I’m lying
Worried
I don’t really know
What’s right
Or
What I need to say.

No one says
The words I need to hear
Need inside my brain
My head.
They are out there
They have been said
Just not to me
They still do not live here
Within my body
Within
My questioning head.

Conspiracy comes and flows
Taking breath
Out of control
No one knows who to trust
Where safe lives
Or
Whether the world
As we know it
Will turn to dust.
Conspiracy shows
She has no mercy
Reigning ruthlessly
Laughing at despair
Smirking
At courtesy.
Conspiracy destroys
Undermines
The beauty of innocence
And
Tenderness becomes
An unimaginable crime.
