Sometimes
Sometimes you want
someone
to notice, to see
to
celebrate you.
Sometimes
Sometimes you don’t care
But
Sometimes
Sometimes you do.

Dead leaves fall
Blowing
In the breeze
Falling to the grass
Floating
In the stream.
Dead leaves fall
Gathering
On the deck
And
Beneath barren trees.
Dead leaves fall
While children
Laugh
As they frolic in those
Now dead leaves.
That fell
That
Fall.

I must
reach for the best
I must
know that tenderness
will bring joy and happiness
I must
make my world turn
with kindness, not hate
I must
I must seek
search, participate.

Last week, I shared that I entered the Arts On Main Contest
and. . .
Arts on Main is a visual arts contest hosted by the South Simcoe Arts Council since 2004. Partnering with local businesses to bring art to the main streets of Tecumseh.
We, the local artists are judged by professionals for a chance to win cash prizes.
The theme this year was
and
I wrote this about my painting. . .
“When I think of connection, it’s about finding our place within the world around us. In this painting, I wanted to capture a moment of stillness—a busy chipmunk, who, despite the demands of gathering for winter or caring for young, takes a moment to pause. It’s a reminder that even in the hustle, there’s a need to reconnect with the natural world, to rejuvenate. For me, observing nature in its raw, unfiltered state brings immense peace and fulfillment—a profound connection to the origins we all share.”
Thank You So Much
to the South Simcoe Arts Council, the judges and all the participants
It’s been such an honour!

Strength isn’t in power
it lives and breathes
in the heart
the head
moving the rest with ease.
