Let Me Be The One

Don’t let me be the one
The one that cries out lies
Never happy with her life
Always, always helping no one.

Don’t let me be the one
Who sees nothing pure or good
Looking every time
To the bad, the sad
Let me be not that one.

Let me be the one
Who sees beauty in everything
Feels life in the wind, earth and sky
A presence who just can’t
And won’t be denied
Let me, let me be that one.

I’ve paid the price
The fruits of my labour
may not be suffice
I’ve toiled, anguished
