Close by and near to me
The warmth of your body
Comforts, protects me
Gives me time
To see
The answer to all the questions
Filling me.
Then my world
Too
Will be filled with love
Unconditionally.

Fruits of my labour
Seem to be
Consequences
I didn’t
Foresee
Maybe tomorrow
I’ll be
In the midst
Of another day
Straight from
History.

Fingers trudge
across the page
feeling
the paper’s texture
smooth
hardly any grain.
Will the pen
fill the lines
printed
on this page
or
will it be vacant
unused
crumpled
thrown away?
Fingers hesitate
and then
pick up trusty pen
and say
words that fill this page
with all they want
need
to say.

My heart aches
Surrounded by people
who think me stupid
My heart aches
For these people have judged
convicted me of dumb behaviour
My heart aches
At the moment I see no alternative
it must be true
I have no saving grace, no saviour
My heart aches

Why have I come?
Where will I go?
Answers here
But
Do they show
The world I’ll live in
Places I’ll go
Feelings I’ll feel?
Answers
I will or will not know.

No writing this morning
no words to be said
everything left on my pillow
the words, they slipped
right out of my head.

My heart aches, my soul cries
For the loves
I’ve lost
And
Live no more.
The time came they must depart
Leaving anguish
Loss
In my broken heart.
Someday I know I’ll see again
Those I loved
I lost
They’ll be with me forever
Forever once again.

Write
What you need to.
Write
What you feel too
Doesn’t matter if it
Never sees daylight
Only known on pages
Of a book closed tight.
Write
Let it out
Let it be recorded on
The slate that makes you be
What you’ve become
You see.
~ Patrice
