A hummingbird came to my window
today
not seen since
in the fall
when they all
flew away.
Sweet nectar she’s looking for
needs right away
hovering, looking in
she tells me.
Get it ready!
Get it ready!

The little hummingbird
is
hungry
she’s flown such a distance
from far
far away.
Now needs
some sweet substance
til
all the blooms
are
on display.
A hummingbird came to my window
and
told me all this
just this morning
just today.

looking back over
just at me
The waves roll in
and
back out again
bringing with them
a message from overseas
a message
you sent just for me
In my thoughts I touch your lips
say words of love
then send them
on the wind
over water, overseas
to you with love

to accept the truth
as it is

to embrace

in the wilderness

low self esteem
Climbing out
has been hard
rocks, crevasses
unholy shards
pierce my skin, my life
my thoughts
Still I climb
I push, pull and shove

a glorious world

grace, courage

My heart aches
my soul cries
for a time
of clear innocence
a time that time
has taken
to the past
No more to feel
to bask
in rays of light
hearted laughs
Sadness overwhelms
hurt
seems to last
til no more tears left
to sob
crying for the now
distance past.

I watch the squirrels fight
edging out one another
for a place at the feeder
for
just another bite.
Sometimes
there’s a truce
Sometimes
a bitter fight
Sometimes
a lone squirrel
eats
til he feels suffice.
Birds keep their distance
stay out of the fight
they wait their turn
a time when
all others have had their fill
All’s quiet
No more anger
No more strife.
