Living in the
Quiet
Listening to the solitude
Feeling all emotions
Surface.
Maybe tomorrow will be
Riotous
But for now living today
Where all is
Quiet.

In the forest I found
A house, a home
So profound.
No windows to shed light
But a cozy home, a place for respite
Adorned with flowers pink and white
A bell to toll when someone
Strange comes lurking
Late at night.
A front door I can’t find
Yet welcome are all
Who poke their head inside.
May you see this house
So profound
May you enjoy all it has to give
There in the forest
This house, this home
That I found.

Totally in the dark
Absolutely unable to see
Whether the world will
Come and hold me
Keep me safe
Or
Throw me to the wolves
Surrounding me
Could it be
The wolves will be
My saviour
Surrounding, protecting me
Totally in the dark
Absolutely unable to see.

Hoping to see joy in all humanity
As we transverse thru our lives
Holding each close
No tears cried
No hope denied
Just care and love in all our lives.

Rain flows, thunder roars
Skies dark
The world holds its breath.
A storm races through
Her heartless devastation clearly shows
Nature knows what she can do.
Later the skies will clear
The sun will shine
Birds glide on breezes
Blowing softly in blue, blue skies.
All is clear
The storm’s destruction
Has disappeared.
Everything is calm
We have weathered another storm.

Golden rays of sunshine
Drift thru the quiet day
Today
Is the only thought
For tomorrow does not yet exist.

I have heard
your sweet voice sing
seen bad weather
turn to spring.
Nothing, nothing is for sure
but with all my heart
I will believe in
the magic of my dreams.

A butterfly lands and rests her wings
sipping nectar
water
all delicious things.
Then she leaves
flutters away
her bright colours
all on display.
Maybe tomorrow
or
the day after today
she’ll be
on her journey
to a southern land
miles away.
Where there
too
she’ll sip more nectar
fluttering
one flower to another
her colours on display
all those miles away.

We work towards
a good ending
we feel the ending come.
Our hearts are remorseful
knowing
this that’s to come.
Will there be a tomorrow
will it all end
today?
Not ours to answer
not ours
to know in any way.
