Healthy And Whole

April 8, 2020

Grasses - Photo by Patrice

Healthy and whole
I face the day
Grateful for everything
That has come my way.

 No turmoil, no destitute
Just the rising sun’s
Rays
Warming all the land.

And grasses waving
Hello
In the meadow
Where they stand.

Blending

April 7, 2020

Stormy Road ~ Photo by Patrice

All days melt together
Blending in the night
In the quiet,
Long way before
Sun’s rays break
At daylight.

Hopes for tomorrow
Despair on yesterday
All fall away
In the blending of today
From here, from there
From yesterday.

Holding Up, Holding Down

April 6, 2020

Nuthatch ~ Photo by Patrice

Holding up, holding down
World revolving upside down
Maybe tomorrow norm will come
But tomorrow
What will be the outcome?

Looking Back At Last, At Last

April 1, 2020

Caitlyn at Marten River ~ Photo by Patrice

Looking back
You just gotta laugh
Things you thought tragic
Made life better
Later on
At last, at last.

Giving choices
Crossing bridges
Making decisions
That made you live
Live and love
At last, at last.

Looking back now
You smile
You know
You just gotta laugh
At last, at last.

In Retrospect

March 30, 2020

Last used March 30/20

In retrospect

I see so clearly
The problems I had
Answers
That evaded me

In retrospect

I could have
Done things
Differently

In retrospect

I know my life
Could have been
Changed drastically

But

In retrospect

Then I would not be
The person I’ve become
I need to be

In retrospect.

The Sun

March 26, 2020

Spring Shoots ~ Photo by Patrice

The sun breaks
over a brown earth
Left as if dead from winter storms
But then
In the midst of all broke
Deemed dead and dying
Is a small green shoot
Emerging
Bringing life
To a winter weary land.

The warm sun gives life
Nurtures
The rising ones
Spring
Has come
As winter retreats
Only
On a later day
To blast
Blow once again.

The sun then rests
Satisfied
she has done her best
Thou
She too
Will be back
Tomorrow
To nurture, bring life
With a warm, radiating
Spring sun.

Terror Holds My Heart

March 25, 2020

Soulful Tree at Eugina Falls ~ Photo by Patrice

Terror
holds my heart
Still waiting
for the worst
To subside.

And my mind
Knows
The world
Of innocence
Will not grow
It’ll hide.

Only fear
Anger
Uncontrolled
Hate
Coupled with
Mistrust
If
we’re not careful
These
Will dominate.

My terror shows
I can not hide
These feelings
I feel
I describe.

Heard The Answer

March 19, 2020

Rock in Awe~ Photo by Patrice

Heard the answer
Before the question
Was ever asked.

Knew the answer
Didn’t have to ask
Or form the words
To know
I must be forever
Where the answer is
Not
The question asked.

I Don’t Have To Do Anything

March 18, 2020

Quite Thoughts ~ Photo by Patrice

I don’t have to write anything
Nor do I need to say
Kind or bitter words
I don’t have to do anything
Today.

Maybe tomorrow
In that different day
Things will be different
They’ll change from
What I do today.

But tomorrow
I’ll deal with it on that day
Because I don’t have to
Do anything, anything
Today.

The Virus Spreads

March 17, 2020

Monarch Butterfly ~ Photo by Patrice

The virus spreads
Rearing it’s ugly head
All across
An unsuspecting land.

No one knows
Where it will go
Only know its come.

It’s infectious spread
Crosses
Across a frightened land.
