I’m Still Here

December 7, 2016

My Family ~ unknown photographer

I may no longer
Be firmly in your presence
I may be a memory now
Only a thought
A time in your life.

But I’m still here
In that thought
or a glint in your eye
A soft word spoken
To show, to guide.

No longer can I caress
With a hand you can see
But I’m here
Feel my breath as the breeze
Blows gently
That’s me.

Hear my heart
Now silent beat
When you see
A beautiful flower
A tree bend in the wind
Hear me.

No sad words need to be said
Over top of the berth
I now call my bed
For I have gone
To a place full of grace.

Kindness, radiant
Loving light fill this world
I’m now in
Gentle ones share, care
They hold me in.

Please don’t despair
Because I’m no longer there
In a form you’ve known
For I’m here
I’m still here.

The Idea Came

December 5, 2016

Art Student ~ Photo by Patrice

The idea came
Staying maybe for a day
Not a word was said
Just everything conveyed
On a thread of thought
Streaming thru my head
Ending in my heart.

No word was spoken
No lips moved
Instead an idea alone
Placed its thoughts
Quietly in my mind
In my head
And forever in my heart.

When I Think All Is Lost

December 2, 2016

When I think all is lost
You come and hold me.

You give me strength
When I feel so weak
You give me hope
A chance to speak
The words that heal me.

My heart’s not broken
It mends, it sees me
Go ahead with life
With you beside me.

What Has Happened

December 1, 2016

Moving Pass ~ Photo by Patrice

What has happened
To the day, the month
And the year?

It has been here
Now gone on its way
Becoming nothing more
Than yesterday.

Seeking to see tomorrow
I lost sight of today
Where I had hoped to live
Everyday.

Realizing it only
When I looked back
To see yesterday passing
From tomorrow right on by
Thru me today.

When I Hear The Bell

November 30, 2016

Aruba clock tower ~ Photo by Patrice

When I hear the bell
My heart stands
Stands still.

My breath gasps
When
When I hear the bell.

No sounds sing
No voice cries
Words worth keeping.

Only
Only nothing
Nothing.

The Moment

November 29, 2016

Costa Rican Raccoon Photo by Brent

Enjoying the moment
Enjoying the scene
All its well
And in some instances
Serene.

Blessed be this moment
This moment I’m in
Only me in this moment
And never to occur
Again.

Where Will It End

November 28, 2016

Water's Night Sky ~ Photo by Patrice

Where will it end? Where did it begin?

Answer not there
Nor has it been
Obvious to us watching
Listening in.

The Parcel Is Wrapped And Ready To Go

November 25, 2016

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

The parcel is wrapped and ready to go
To someone deserving this I know
But please let them see
Love wrapped happily and ready to go
To someone who’ll cherish it
And then let it go.

Don’t worry if it’s proper
Don’t worry if it’s right
Just send it off wrapped
Full of love
Tied lovingly tight.

Don’t wait for an answer
Nor expect one soon
Your love is the answer
Yours or someone who opens the parcel
All wrapped and ready to go
On to the world there to bestow
True love forever
Wherever it goes.

So just wrap a parcel
Fill it with love
Give it to someone
In need of a hug.

Keep Me Close

November 24, 2016

Brandy & Charles ~ Watercolour Art by Patrice

Keep me close
Keep me quiet
Silent sounds
Roar
Without saying
Anything profound.

Joyous words
Cannot speak
Heartache thumps
Echoing thoughts
Not uttered
Not to keep.

Surround me now
With love and joy
Embrace
My head, my heart
Let me go
To those that love.

Stay in touch
With loving souls
Sleeping in a bed
So soft
Never hearing another
Horrid thought.

The Reason Why

November 23, 2016

Western Winter Scene ~ Art by Patrice

Checking out the reason
Knowing the answer why
Crying for the blessed
Never understanding
Or asking why.

Don’t call the known
Nor respond to the one
That wishes only to die
Just moving forward
Hoping that right
Is the only reason why.
