When I know the reason why I cry
I will cry the song of long ago
The one each and everyone does know
The song that fills the sky
With wonders no one can deny
Lives beneath the earth
In our hearts and all creatures
That walk the earth.
When I know the reason why
Why I cry, I cry.

Tender mercies
Tender thoughts
Bringing me gladness
Bringing me thoughts.
Soft and gentle
Full
Of what I have
Not what I have not.
Tender mercies
Tender thoughts
Resting peacefully
Here in my thoughts.

VIDEO
The call of the jay rips thru still, damp air
Mist rises while a red squirrel fights for his share
As a deer trudges pass all these affairs
No one notices the cardinal’s not there.

See the snow fall
See it coming down
Lying quietly upon the ground.
Not in repose but instead
Covering with a snowy blanket
A sleeping ground
That’s waiting
Waiting for warmth
To come round once again.
See the snow fall
See it fall, coming down
Coming down again.

Patrice’s Art & Poetry Blog
Why are we here? Where did we come from? Where will we go? Have we been here before?
All questions that have been asked for a extremely long time.
Does my dog, my cat or horse ask the same questions? Does the deer wandering thru the woods think of these things? Does the robin sitting on her nest of eggs?
I wonder…

We remember we forget
All the rights, the wrongs
Some regrets.
Fill the sky
With singing cries as
Lasting earth gives us birth.
No more to tread
On unsound ground
Fly our journey
The world round.

Deep sorrow, absolute horror
For fire has claimed lives
And ones who loved
Will never be the same
Smoke billowed, fire raged
Taking life, killing
Killing at such a savage pace
No hope, desperate loss
In a desparate place.
But see
See gentle souls rising
In the midst of raging fire’s rage
For though gone
Peace now, quiet time
Running freely in heaven’s place
Lost to the earth they have not lost
Nor never will
The loving race.
~ Patrice
My deepest sympathies to those that have loss so much. So sorry. So very sorry.

We are lucky, we are trained
To live life as if we’re not insane.
No one knows for sure
Nor has one the right
To live life thinking
All will be perfect, be alright.
Take the misery
The sadness and the lame
Take them to a happy place
Or leave them
For someone else to claim.
No heart is pure
Without regret
No life is lived
Without some sadness put into it.
We are lucky, we are trained
To live life as if we’re not insane

Write my words
Get them out
To the world and throughout
The meadow, stream or a skunk
If he cares to listen, tho I doubt.
My words will be
Ones I need to say
Not rambling
In a narcissistic way.
Meaning something
Felt and heard
Lasting maybe
On tongues that have heard.
Hear them now
Listen close
I’ll whisper softly
The ones you need the most.

Featuring thoughts
That come to mind
Random some
Some sublime
Those that hold
Or lost in time
Grasping one
Making it real
Watch it unfold
Like a movie reel.
The featured one
The one held close
To carry on
To make the most
Of thoughts thought
Regardless
Of which thought
Is thought the most.
