You see
I’ve been there too
I know the heartache, the sadness
Nothing, no one is left all alone
You see
someone, somewhere has been there too
we’ve never been alone
You see
now you can be for someone else
the same as was done for you
You see
I know you see now too.

Looking for the way
Seeking the path
That
Takes me to the place
Called
Everlast
No way to know
No one to ask
Must
Seek on my own
This wondrous place
Called
Everlast.

Snow’s falling
oh how it’s coming down!
Roads closed
drivers turning round
or
Stuck in a white world
frantic
Hoping soon
the snow will stop
Stop
it’s falling down.

Powerful times need to come
covering all in hope
and
tremendous love
Then we’ll see
hear and feel
joy
throughout
the mountains, valleys
and
the hills
No more to mourn
for
we will be
in the hearts of another
protected,
able to grow unconcerned
with small trivial fare.

The heart is cold
And
Does not beat
With love
Just full of hate
Anger, blatant lies
No
Not love
See it fester
Boil over
Beating, beating
Not with love.

My heart aches
my eyes cry
my feet walk
a endless lie
No saviour in sight
no helping hand
my remorse
is apparent
I cannot stand
on the precipice
of anger
and
be in command
No
But yes
Yes I can.

I hear your cry
I hear that mournful sound
echoing
amongst the hills
valleys
all around.
Will I too cry, will I be sad
inconsolable
in my quest for love
amongst
all this sadness
and
sorrow?
No answer comes
no words uttered
all
I hear is
that awful
awful
mournful sound.

Please make the world
a better place
one with not only beauty
but
loving, caring grace.
Let no one be left behind
hurt or disgraced
keep loving all things
as you would want yourself
loved and embraced.
~ Patrice
@ Patrice Clarkson – 2022
My heart goes out to the the people and their families
that lost their lives on this day one year ago.
