Feeling Life From Before

April 16, 2015

My Shadow ~ Photo by Patrice

Feeling life from before
Standing here beside me
Saying things
Reliving times gone before.

Joyous reunion
Sad thoughts passing
Hugging life and lives
That lived before.

I know I am one
Who does not stand alone
Beside, in front and behind
Are those whose lives
Have lived before.

Liar, Liar

Liar, liar
Don’t know how
Don’t know where
Won’t listen, nor see
Liar, liar
Standing in front of me.

Wonder

April 14, 2015

Downy Woodpecker ~ Photo by Patrice

Wonder is what I’ve got
As I reach, reach out and see
The beauty, the majesty of all living things
Knowing they are all part of me.

When I Felt Your Heart

April 2, 2015

Mom and Twiggy ~ Photo by Patrice

When I felt your heart next to mine
When I saw my life and yours intertwined
My soul was full and so sublime
When I was yours and you were mine.

April Fools’

April Fools’ ~ Hah! Hah!
You tricked me
You made me think it was true
I believed you
April Fools’

Was I so innocent?
Was I so full of you?
April Fools’
April Fools’

You believed you were my world
And thought I loved you too
April Fools’
April Fools’ too.

House Of Cards

March 31, 2015

Old House Window ~ Photo by Patrice

House of cards
Comes crashing down
Never built on solid ground
No ace, jack nor king
Only a queen in mourning.

Voice Speaking

March 30, 2015

Voice speaking, crying out
Saying things needed
Feeling all alone
Desperate to know the answer
Seeking to be free
Of ties changing, dragging thee.

Voice may be loud
Sounding almost like a horn
Blowing breath, scattering every way
Or soft and mellow
Holding dreams inside
Being safe, secure today.

Voice crying of things lost and found
Then some stored away
Voice may be laughing, bringing joy
To the day
Holding, hugging souls captured
In the voice’s lilting, loving way.

Someone Great To Me

March 27, 2015

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

My Mom photo by Patrice
Today I remember
Someone
Great to me.

Someone
Who gave me life
And is forever
Part of me.

Someone
Who took the time
And began the task
Of making me, me.

Someone
Wise and talented
Knowing when
To be still
And when to be.

Someone
Whose life
Was not often easy
But she accepted
The task
And made it be
What it must be.

That someone
Was my mother
Someone
Always great to me.

I miss you and remember
You’ll always be
Someone
Great to me.

Tenderness, Loving And Caring

March 26, 2015

Costa Rican Tales

Tenderness, loving and caring
Caressing my heart, my life
Tender touch holding me
In warmth
This very night.

Smiling, laughing
Bringing cheer and delight
May you feel love like this
May it hold you safe and secure
All thru your life
