Warning danger going by!
Hold yourself in check
Don’t say anything in anger
Let it all pass you by.
Say a prayer for those ahead
Those who know not
What’s coming by.
Try to warn them
Don’t just stand there
Letting it devastate
All it passes by.

Sacrifice needs not to be
Nor neither give in
No
This is not your destiny.
Abuse no one in your passage
Just
Proud, strong and kind
These are what is needed
In all of human kind.

Overlooking shadows in the dark
I hide beneath the sea of apology
Never looking back
Never to see
What dwells in the hearts
Of those I left behind
Never again to see.

Things happen
I don’t know why
Placing me in places
Sometimes sad
Sometimes I even cry.
Then the heavens open up
Raining down
Blessings warm and bountiful
Covering everything
Everything all around.

When I heard you
Calling me
My heart stopped
It skipped a beat.
Tell me why
I can be alone
Lost without you
Near me.
You make me whole
A life to love
With arms wrapped
Around my soul.
Your heart, my heart
Filled with love
Together always
In everlasting love.

Have you seen optimistic?
Where, oh where could she be?
At one time she was here
Right beside of me.
She kept me company
Laughed and made me see
The happy, caring way
Just what I need.
But yesterday
She left, she left me
Have you seen optimistic?
If you do, please tell me.

How do I know
Where I’ve been
Where I come from
How did I do the things
I’ve done?
Where will I go
When I’m finished
I’ve completed all
All that I’ve come here
To get done?
Secrets to answer
Questions to ask
I’m sure I’ll never
Be finished with all
These tasks.

The hall is narrow
The ceiling falling down
My way to the living room
Can’t be found.
A method of cooking fills
Mouldy kitchen air
Where cabinets hang
Feeling no loving care.
Nothing to clean away
Night terrors experienced
In a cluttered bedroom
Where sleep is not
Usually assumed.
Another way, another day
Maybe tomorrow will be perfect
Making this just a dream
I dreamed yesterday.

Snow flies
And we answer
Why? Why?
Blizzards blow fierce white
Changing darkness
Into a brilliant seeing night.
Cold with icicles
Dripping down
Covering a frigid, frozen ground.
Rivers run underneath
A covering of ice and snow
Sometimes more than a foot deep.
We live thru this
We
We do exist.
~ Patrice

Can I venture to the past?
Relax and enjoy things seen
Fix what wasn’t right
Move forward
To this time I live in now
Confident
My heart will no longer hunger
For what has been and passed.
Can I?
Dare I venture to the past?
~ Patrice
