Another year just today
Came to be, passed away
Looking
To the one to come
Wishing
Hoping
For a fortunate outcome.
Come join me
In the passage thru
A year
A day
A week or too.

Patrice’s Art & Poetry Blog
Saw my heart filled
With love
And yours with such cold
Not caring bold disdain.
I wasn’t told
You’d soon depart
Or how I’d be shattered
Blown apart.
It seems it doesn’t matter
For that’s what you expect
When the heart
Is torn, ripped away.
Not sure why
I didn’t cry or follow
You out the door.
Instead I closed my heart
Denying for a time
That I wished
You would have stayed.
But now I wait and hope
And pray
That you’ll come back
Someday, someday.

My journey is special
I am elite
No one else walks, talks
Or looks like me.
My heart skips a beat
When I look in the mirror
For there someone exceptional
Is looking at me.
No one in this world
This story or be
The exact same example
The same human being.
I am special
I am me.

Death is overpowering me
Coming, telling me
What to do, where to go
Where to be.
Death is walking beside me
Holding gently, telling me
Souls who go don’t leave
They too, are alongside me.
Death is breathing life inside me
My time will come but not now
Go live a life full of love
Fun and beauty.
This death tells me.

There I stand
Soul, hat in hand
Searching, looking for the right way
The right stand.
Should I turn left
Or maybe right
Go forward or
Retreat into the dark of night?
No answer comes
No word spoken clear
Quiet, gentle silence moves me
Our bond unbroken here.

I seek the answer
Questioning
The reason things happen.
While souls stand silent
Not giving the answer
The reason.
It all comes with
Living
Within reason.

Seeking
Helping the world turn away
From the horrors, destruction
Man has played
No virtue in it, no redeeming grace
Just sadness and wretched feelings
In this place.
Maybe tomorrow
When the sun does rise
Man will wake up and take pride
In making a place where all are alive
Living in harmony not needing
To just survive.
~ Patrice

Melancholy feelings
Sorry heart
Trudging through the snow
Feeling
It’s cold, cold heart.
Icicles dangling, dripping
To sadden, frozen ground
No where to go
Misery
Sadness all around.
Then the sun shines
Spreading, singing like a lark
Warming all the world
Unfreezing
That frigid, frozen heart.
