Holding out, holding close
Thoughts of yesteryear
Knowing they arrived
Played out
And
Now have disappeared.
Reasons why, reasons known
I can’t decipher
I can’t cry out
All I know
they happened
They’re with me now
Till I leave this earth, till I too
Am no longer here.

if you’re white or black
whether you’ve seen the sacred cow

any of that
that
makes us different
in
thoughts and acts
we are still human beings
we are family
joined
it seems
to live life as best we can
making
full of love for all

humans

Days go by
nights seem
to melt into nothingness
where nothing lives
nothings been.
Still you’re on my mind
and I have seen
there’s a chance
you’ve heard my voice
you’ve seen.
I’m here
I live, I love
I am
a human being.

In the midst of working thru
What bothered me
In the dark, dead of night
Frightened, scary, morose
And all those things
That I need not care about
Nor harbour in my heart
Not now
Or in the still
Dead quiet of the night
No, I need not.
