Seeking solitude, quiet and a resting mind
No bitterness, no crime
No tears smearing a saddened face
Only a smile, a happy thought
A loving gesture
All things caring in this
A quiet time.
That’s what I want, I need
In this
My quiet mind.

Can I fix it?
Will I be the one
That’s the hero
In a situation
That should not be?
Crushed and miserable
Full of doubt
Must move forward
Cast it out.
Smile with gratitude
Mean it
See it radiate
All about.
My strength and smile
Will cast misery out.
Can I fix it?
I have no doubt.

I didn’t draw, I wouldn’t paint
Little love, lots of hate
Time stood still
And seemed to crawl
No one knew
What could or would be all.
Focused on the wrong thing then
Didn’t know what was up
Or around the bend.
Hardship was a constant friend
Little laughter to ease my way
Just disaster each turn I made.
Then they came and held me up
Turned me round to see the light
Not just of love
But a grandeur life
Stroked my soul, made things right
This they did for me one night.
They stood behind, smiled and laughed
No judgement made in this my craft
What took so long?
You might ask
But only those who know
Can answer that.

To cry is human.
It shows you care.
To laugh is human.
It shows you have joy.
To anger is human.
It shows you feel.
To remember is human.
It shows you have been.
To die is human.
It shows you have lived.

Feel the green coming thru
Up from ground all muddy too
Crickets run across the lane
To get to where is their domain.
Birds fly by tired from
Their trip up north
Gleaming food
from any source.
Sun is weak and far away
Coming closer day by day
Smile, relax know for sure
Weather cures all winter blues.

When the world is laughing
And things are profound
Stand on their steps
Then lightly step down.
No holes will be barred
No one will curse or swear
Just jovial laughing
Not one bit of despair.
Hear the world laughing
Join the chorus of delight
Smile with pleasure
Let heartache take a hike.

Christmas comes but once a year
As does Easter and New Years
Celebrate, have some cake
Eat the treat Christmas makes.
Travel round
See the smile on the child
That believes in Santa Claus.
Feel the joy
Feel the cheer
Wrap a present for someone dear.
Christmas comes but once a year
So we should raise a glass
Of hearty cheer
And bless this day throughout the year!

Don’t be bitter or angry
Just be happy and gay.
Don’t let them get you down
With their toxic chatter
Even in the darkest night
There always will be a guiding light.
Dance a light step down the pathway
Smile, laugh hysterically with delight
Being happy and gay
If only tonight.
~ Patrice

Wondering why or did I see
How the heart mends
Without any seams.
Tragedy, chaos and most likely strife
Rip holes in my being
Then along comes kindness
Dipped in strength
Changing everything.
A smile, a laugh, a gentle caress
Hold me together
Thru anything.
I’m not wondering
I know, I see
With love my heart mends
Without any seams.
