Holding my heart

so it won’t break
fall from joy

misery.
I’ll hold her close
feel the veins and arteries
pumping
throughout
my grateful body.
She has been

light
hidden deep
inside of me.

there

inside of me

goes the clock
throughout time

does march on
through conflicts
and
happy, pasting times
Tic tok, tic tok
is all we hear
when we meet, love
and marry
Tic tok, tic toc
as
children play
old folks say words
lost in yesterday

is what I hear the clock say
as time passes
passes away.
