Have You Seen Optimistic?

December 7, 2018

Have you seen optimistic?
Where, oh where could she be?
At one time she was here
Right beside of me.

She kept me company
Laughed and made me see
The happy, caring way
Just what I need.

But yesterday
She left, she left me
Have you seen optimistic?
If you do, please tell me.

Can I Venture To The Past?

November 30, 2018

Can I venture to the past?
Relax and enjoy things seen
Fix what wasn’t right
Move forward
To this time I live in now
Confident
My heart will no longer hunger
For what has been and passed.

Can I?
Dare I venture to the past?

Why Not Understand

November 23, 2018

3 Rotties ~ Illustration by Patrice

Why not try to understand
All the confusion swirling round
Like a crazy marching band.

Don’t know where, don’t know why
But somehow I need to cry
Release the hurt, set free the sigh.

Move beyond the crazies
Then maybe, maybe
Understand the reason why.

A Robin Wings Her Way South

November 16, 2018

A robin wings her way south

Buffeting winds

That may drive her off course

Today undaunted

She stays focused on her way

Though wind, rain and snow

She goes to the place

Where the sun glows heat

And where she stays

Til its time once again

To fly north

With all her family and friends.

Golden Leaves Swaying

November 2, 2018

Golden Fall ~ Photo by Patrice

Golden leaves swaying
On a November breeze
Floating, cascading down
Landing on soon to be
Frozen, winter ground.

Woods are silent, hushed, listening
To the still quiet as a hunter lurks
Waiting to kill in the midst
Of golden leaves falling, raining down
Upon barren, dying ground.

Sorely Saddened By My Loss

October 19, 2018

Sorely saddened by my loss
So very hard to pay this cost
Of living life with those I love
Now gone, I pay the price
For loss of them in this life.

But

I’ll gladly pay that price again
For the years of love
I’ve been given
It’s priceless even though
I know
I’ll be sad down the road.

Saddened by my loss
Is a price I’ll gladly pay
To have had you in my life
Even if for just a day.

Save Myself, Help Myself

October 12, 2018

Save myself, help myself
Do not accept defeat
Power, strength moves mountains
Higher expectations cancel out retreat.

Now is the time to stand
Stand right on the line not looking back
Accepting the fact that I am
I am.

I am the one who has the will
The power to help and save
That person who I am
This I know, I know I am.

Now Will Come

October 5, 2018

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

Now will come and soon will past
Memories will be what will last.

Moving in transition from has been
To that that lasts.

Now can dream, dream at last.
