The heart is a treasure
Hopefully, never to be seen
It guides, beats life in a body
Where she is queen.
The mind may be king
But the heart, she is queen
Without her
The mind can’t do anything.
Giving life, birthing life
Holding life in between
No one lives a life without a heart
Hopefully, never to be seen.

A day to reflect
a day to stay focused
on tomorrow
making it better than yesterday.
The hurts, wrongs and harms
done in the name
of a God
that would not condone
such tragedies in anyway.
Fill your heart with love
fill your soul with remorse
for the small
innocent children lying dead
in shallow, unmarked graves
undiscovered
til just yesterday.
They had done no wrong
snatched
from their mothers and fathers
one terrible
fateful day.
Send support
for survivors that made it thru
endured torture, harm unmitigated pain
for no reason
not ever, not never
in those horrible years
terrible days.

I’ve heard the sound of the earth
Rocking too and fro
Even thou she doesn’t make a sound
I know the earth is there
I know her heart spins
Round and round
But still
She quietly stands
Stands still for me
I am
On solid ground.

The best you’ve ever seen
I’ve tried, I tried
But after all the manoeuvring
It hasn’t happened
It hasn’t come to be.
I haven’t seen my way
And settled with
The acknowledgement that
I’ll be the best of me
The best I can
The best I’ve ever been
Today.

Nothing to say not in any way
All has been said
Then left to be
Easy to live with or diving down
Into pure agony.
Nothing can stop all these
Bad thoughts
But you can replace them
With something pleasant
Making your face into a huge smiley.
No, nothing to say
Not this morning, this evening
Not today.

I know you’re there
I’ve felt your sweet breath
upon my face, my hair
your soft voice sweetly calls
from somewhere, somewhere
but I don’t know where
your steps direct my feet
they lead me in a way so discreet
I can’t falter nor wander
you guide me, guide me there
I feel no despair
you are with me where’er I go
I know, I know you’re there.

I look out on the earth
and see
things going on their way.
Birds sing, flowers bloom
bees fly
pollinating all they can
they try.
How can I not see beauty
beauty
there in front of me?
Thank the Lord
for you see, he has done this
all this magnificence
all this beauty.

Feelings are hard to decipher
anger, hurt, happiness or joy
what are they trying to say?
Maybe tomorrow
I’ll know
I’ll have answers
not known, understood
today.
