Morning doves
are
such gentle folk
they don’t yell or scream
like
Blue Jays
cry
No, they simply
silently
move across the quiet sky
cooing softly
as
they sit
side-by-side.

like
a morning dove
kind and gentle
full

a cavern
so deep
My heart is swallowed up

creeps

black
dense

over rocks large
sharp

my anger festers, rages
because of all
I see
Why does one hurt
another?
Why kill or maim
a living creature

another
human being?
Makes no sense

to me.

not deviating

a crime
