As the world moves round
Round
Revolving forever
Never still.
Will I fall off
Or
Hold on
Grasping threads
Of what’s to come?
Hardly know
Just holding on

I know I haven’t been
The best you’ve ever seen
I’ve tried, I tried
But after all the manoeuvring
It hasn’t happened
It hasn’t come to be.
I haven’t seen my way
And settled with
The acknowledgement that
I’ll be the best of me
The best I can
The best I’ve ever been
Today.
