The earth turns
bringing light and warmth
on a summer day.

Filling oceans up
creating life in the water
dirt and the sky.
No matter what
She moves
speaking words of love
heard by those quiet enough
No matter what.

nothing
else to do
sitting, relaxing
watching everything
I need to be reality
Come true.

with no thought
of what may come

before I leave this earth

Your arms are warm and tender
your voice sings
a sweet refrain
I know I’m held with love

you’re with me
on this path
I travel.
Our hands, our hearts
intertwined
our love forever
as we take
this last walk
down the old, familiar
country lane.

Those words
Forming in my mouth
Just today.
What do they mean?
What do they say
About me
My life and happenings
From
Yesterday?
I’ll keep them safe, tucked away
Till I figure out
What they mean
What they’re trying to tell me
Trying to say.

The question though
is. . .
What do I really want?
Something acceptable
Something that makes me happy
Something that
I want.
Makes me get up in the morning
Sleep
Restful in the night.
Yes

Holding me, protecting me.
No more can I see
This happening with you
To me.
I thought our lives
Would be
Intertwined forever
Forever into eternity
But
No more, no more
Can it, will it be.

To know?
The answer is mine
To say, to see

For it’s all there
And that’s
That is what I know.
