My Heart Beats Soft

January 20, 2023

Mr. T and Me ~ Photo by us

Slowly hearing
My heart beat soft
Taking in the beauty
Beneath, within
And
Aloft.

No words spoken
No words need said
For all is explained
In a beat so soft
Inside
Instead.

Thunderous Clouds

January 19, 2023
Last used Jan. 19/23

Clouds are heavy overhead
Thunder strikes with ominous dread
Rain sweeps down
From
Dark, black clouds.
~
Will the storm come
Wreck havoc

Before it disappears?
~
No one
But
God knows
Have no fear.

Weep

January 18, 2023
Weep ~ Patrice and Ceile

My heart cries
My soul does weep
The heavens have opened up
And
Took my precious one to keep
I cry
I weep and weep.

Wait for me
For
I know when my time comes
I’ll seek to be with you there
No more, no more
To
Weep.

In The Bowels Of Remorse

January 17, 2023
In The Bowels Of Remorse ~ Illustration by Patrice

In the bowels of remorse
heartbreak
and
deep unrelenting
sadness

Will strive
to come out
attempt to be happy
and
sane

Till that day
I’ll hear that sweet
sad
melancholy reframe

Playing
playing over and over
and
over
over again.

This Day

January 16, 2023

I’ve written 2-3 writings, poems for this day.
This day I’ve been dreading since last December.

Ceile, our beloved Rottweiler has been very sick
and we knew this day would come.

She would have ‘Good Days’ eat, chase, her ‘Green Ball’ wag, her tail and cuddle on the sofa. Then there would be ‘Bad Days’ She wouldn’t eat, diarrhoea, puke after drinking too much water from the prednisone she was taking.
We knew, knew our time was limited and short.
Too many ‘Bad Days’ and it’s all over.

Yesterday, we accepted that there was no time left.

None of the writings I wrote for this sad day, say how I feel as much as
this that I wrote many years ago to a friend who had just lost her beloved mastiff.
Please read, think of those who you have lost, hug those still with you
and send your best
to our Ceile for the journey she’s about to begin.

Peace and Love

Ceile and her Pink Lady

The bond of Love
We share
Can never be broken
And
The memory
Of
One so loved
And
Loving
Will never be
Forgotten

Snow Falls Silently Down

January 13, 2023

Winter Snow ~ Photo by Patrice

Snow falls silently down
Snowploughs roar
Spreading sand, salt
Across roads far around.

Oblivious birds sit in trees
Hunkered down
A fox yips, a crow cries
All says
A winter’s day is on the rise.

No One Knows

January 11, 2023
No One Knows ~ Photo by Patrice

No one knows
Nor
Do they tell
Why the world turns
And
Doesn’t fall
Into hell.

Maybe it has
Maybe
There we are
No one knows
Nor
Do they tell.

No More To Say

January 10, 2023
No More To Say ~ Watercolour by Patrice

No More
To Say
No more
To do
Going forward
Just
We two.

Loving
Every minute
Laughing
All the time
We will do it
Just
Give us
A little more time.

Standing Still And Breathing Deep

January 9, 2023
Standing Still And Breathing Deep ~ Photo by Patrice

Standing still
And
Breathing deep
The world comes into focus.

Then I know
Know what I need to leave
And
What I need to keep.

I Do Remember

January 6, 2023

My Mom ~ Photo by Patrice

I do remember
Your loving grace
The innocent smile upon your face
Your strong embrace.

I do remember
Shelter in a troubled world
Your ability of slowing down
A hectic pace.

I do remember
A simple kind gesture
Sweetness on your face
A peaceful existence.

All this I do
I do remember.
