Hold me close
I pray you hold me tight
for
I am frightened
by
what shows
in
the morning light
Let it not be coming
to
take me
Let it be
just
a passing storm
that cares
nothing
absolutely nothing
about me.

Are you treading water
waiting
to die?
Or
diving in
with
a loud victorious cry?
Or
swimming
to
a island paradise?
Your choice
to
make
your choice to live
in
this time
before you die.

I hold my hands
I close them
tight
I feel the glory
in
all their might
They will cheer
the good, great fight
they will fall silent
in
mourning
the world’s sad plight
I hold my hands
thankful
they can show the world
my delight.

Take hold of me
And please hold tight
Protect, guide me
Through the darkest night
Let no harm come to me
Or those I love
This I ask, I ask of you
My sweet love.

I close my eyes
covering up all
I surmise
to be
awful
to
my seeing eyes
Tomorrow when
I open up
my eyes
see the beauty, the wealth
in
all the clouds
the skies
Then I’ll know
I don’t have
to
really close
my eyes
For that beauty
is
all around
whether
they are closed or open
to
these
my seeing eyes.

The world
has
come
The world will go
In between
we live
That is
all
we control.

My heart cringes
my eyes do cry
for
the times of happiness
gone
passed by
I hope
tomorrow shows
some delight
I hope
I’ll find peace
and
rest quietly
tonight.

I walk
quietly with thee
My steps are
light
my mind is free
Quietly
I walk with thee.

You call me
I hear
your voice
the soft lilt
such
a quiet voice
I call back
but
you don’t
hear
you have spoken
I know
you’re near
The line is broken
and
it’s not clear
why
I speak
but
you don’t hear.
