No matter what
The earth turns
bringing light and warmth
on a summer day.
No matter what
Filling oceans up
creating life in the water
dirt and the sky.
No matter what
She moves
speaking words of love
heard by those quiet enough
No matter what.

When you see the greatness
The majesty
You’ll also see the power
And the glory.
No stone unturned
No path untread
No heart lying
Waiting in an empty, lonely bed.
All will be together
All will be suffice
To make this world better
To give this world life.
~ Patrice

Thinking
About the world today
About all the people who have
Died
Passed away.
Most not their fault
A virus
A plague raced thru
Taking
Their lives away.
Sadness
Not gladness
Is the atmosphere
In this
Our world today.

On the other side, sliding down
The slippery slope
Laughing, crying I turn round
I hope the way is clear
The path won’t steer me wrong
On the other side, sliding down.

No one’s listening
To my heart beat
Nor saying
Any encouraging ways.
When I speak
The echo goes far, far away
Even I can’t hear
It come back my way.
No one’s listening
To anything, anything
I speak or say.

Remember when
Life was soft
And
Then the world burst
Spewing anger.
That is when
I fell from my heart
Landing in a den of angry giants
Eating,
Crunching hapless wrens
Cried in anger, feared for death.
That is when
I saw the world
Issue out some justice
My tears were dried, my heart soothed
And
I remembered when.

Seldom do you see
Different species fight
Like you, like me
Seldom
Seldom do you see.

Feeling mixed
And
Feeling strange
Grapple with the concept
Never knowing how
The game is played.
Truthfully told
But not explained
I listen in awe of those
Who have been
And
Those who came
