When I didn’t know nor find
The thing that occupied my mind
I wandered thus
Took a bus, then a train
In hopes of finding a refrain
That would sing answers
To the questions I wondered
And not be all in vain.

Going deep inside the heart
Within the soul
Feeling things I didn’t see
I didn’t know.
Crying words that have
Such knowledge
Words I need
And didn’t know I knew
Or would now know.
Breathe life lived
Deep inside the heart
Created within the soul.

How it would go
Could I reframe
From
Laughing, smiling or crying
Hold it close
Or
Let it go
Take a step to the left or
Move
Back to the right
Turn
Go anywhere
But does it seem right
Cause
I didn’t know, I don’t know.

The bottom falls out
That’s when I see
The dirty truth
That’s been hiding
From me.
I didn’t know
I couldn’t see
All that sordid, disgusting
Lying
Cheating on me.
Now I’m free
I can see
To help those in the same state
That once held
Imprisoned me.
