You Don’t Know

You Don't Know ~ Photo by Patrice

Of course you don’t know
The sadness, the heartache
I shouldn’t know.

You see the life
That seems to glow.

Sometimes it’s a lie
Sometimes you see I cry
But
Then if course

You don’t know.

Strange Dreams

July 30, 2021

Winter Snow ~ Photo by Patrice

Strange dreams populate my night
They make no sense telling stories
Of places never seen
People I know
But they are in a strange dream.

Somethings seem familiar
In an odd way
I’ve been there
But I can’t tell you
When or on what day.

I awaken quizzing
Just what was this experience
No words to describe
That strange dream experience.

The Lush Green Of Summer

July 23, 2021

Orange Lily ~ Photo by Patrice

The lush green of summer
Is contentment in lazy, hot days
Brief showers of warm shimmering
Summer rain.

Squirrels scurry away
Hummingbirds drink all day
Sun shinning bright in a clear blue
Summer sky.

All is right
As I lie
My eyes watching summer drift by.

Heaven Help The World Understand

July 16, 2021

Heaven help the world
Understand
There is no tomorrow
If we don’t stand and
Let nature be around.

We alone cannot supply
Our food nor make rain
Come pouring down.

Understand
We are but a small dot
In a world
Simply
Spinning round.

The Heart Is A Treasure

July 9, 2021

Saluki ~ Watercolour by Patrice

The heart is a treasure
Hopefully, never to be seen
It guides, beats life in a body
Where she is queen.

The mind may be king
But the heart, she is queen
Without her
The mind can’t do anything.

Giving life, birthing life
Holding life in between
No one lives a life without a heart
Hopefully, never to be seen.

All The Pages Are Empty

July 2, 2021

Waiting to paint ~ Self Portrait

All the pages are empty
All the lines are dry
No one hears the cries
Of a pen waiting
Waiting to tell the world
No lies.

Thinking, Wondering Where I’ve Been

June 25, 2021

Road is Clear - Photo by Patrice

Thinking, wondering where I’ve been
And where
I’m going to go.

Then the road opens
The path seems clear
All I have to do is

Start from here.

Memories

June 18, 2021

Family ~ unknown photographer

Memories
Memories come flooding back
Some with remorse
Some with a laugh track.

I don’t know if anyone else
Remembers it like that
But I remember
Memories
Just like that.

Sleepy Tired

June 11, 2021

Sleepy tired
Worry wakes me in the night
Toss turn
Feeling no sleep
As anguish plays on my sleepless stage
In a darkness with no saving light.

Maybe in the morning
All will be clear
A path opening up, a way from here to there
But tonight greeted with only so many questions
Keeping me sleepy tired
In a dim, dark hopeless night.

Write

June 4, 2021

Patrice's avatarPatrice’s Art & Poetry Blog

Write
What you need to.

Write
What you feel too
Doesn’t matter if it
Never sees daylight
Only known on pages
Of a book closed tight.

Write
Let it out
Let it be recorded on
The slate that makes you be
What you’ve become
You see.
