the fury
Why do I let
this
envelope me?
Struggle to be free
to be
happy
Yet all I see
is
sadness, madness
Scaring me.

let me see beyond
the gate
far, far across the hill
take my hand
let’s walk we two
to a place
where forgiveness
reigns
and
gentleness
is a way of life
There we’ll stay
living
in
perfect harmony
Oh, yes
that
would be nice!

Here I am
waiting
for the right place
and
time
to tell all
you need to know
to
get through
just
another day
I won’t say
anything nasty
I won’t get in the fray
but
I will tell you
you need
to
be happy
even if
no one else
can see your smile
smile anyway.

I know it is
You know you came here
I know I never did
You know the heart is true
I know it doesn’t believe any of this
I know you turn away
You know I hold with kindness
Together we know life
can seem so different
Yet we are here
as one
Side by side
thru all of this.

I didn’t listen
I went on
my way
Why didn’t I listen
to
your kind words
soft and loud
telling
of things needed
to be
addressed
not allowed
But I didn’t listen
I didn’t say anything
to
stop the sadness
settle the anger
or
quell the foray
No, I did nothing
nothing like that
today.

discover
where they want
to go

in rhythm

the rhyme of life

I say?
They’re only words
words that’ll disappear
go away
If they’re written
for all to read
to say
will they last forever
or
still disappear
go away?
I’ve written these words
I have spoke them
and
all I can really say
is. . .
I’ll wait, I’ll see
if
they disappear
just
go away.

I don’t write
I clear my head
of
the thoughts
swirling round
coming from those
that
are dead.
They need to say
to
ones alive
“I love you
I’ll help you through life
you will survive”
Sometimes
they’re kind
sometimes they’re sweet
sometimes though
they say
what needs to be said
to help
loved ones
get back up
on
their feet.
I thank them
for
coming
I appreciate they do
cause I too benefit
from
their words
that may be written
just for you.
